Rising Sun
Aah… deep breath… Do you remember when I asked you if you’d take my hand when I felt lost and alone, if you’d pick me up when I fell, if you’d dance with me in the depths of uncertainty with smiles on our faces, and in the promise of tomorrow? I asked if you’d be there to rise with me like the morning sun, to dance and twirl like leaves and flowers do to the melodies of the morning breeze. Do you remember?
You stretched out your arm and said to me, “Hold on tight and never let go. Let me show you a feeling where you’ll always belong, safe at home by my side as we dance and rise through it all like the sun does into the center of our soul.” I remember it like it was yesterday.
I’m bringing this up just to tell you that I’m glad I did it. I’m glad I took your hand and held on tight. It had its challenges at some points, but it was also the best feeling ever. For the first time, I knew what it meant to fly, to ascend with the rising sun.
