I found myself between waves and sky, both in the same shade of blue, and sat there watching this kid walk into sea with a broken surfboard, no crowd, no ceremony, no perfect wave. Just him and the water, he didn’t wait, didn’t hesitate, didn’t ask for better, he took what came no matter how small, fell and went out again. And I thought to myself, how often do we wait for the right moment, the clean break, the flawless version of something before we even move ?
But him, this young man, he made the most of it, every moment every fall.
The ocean doesn’t promise the perfect wave. It just asks: Will you paddle out anyways ?
Because maybe, just maybe.. it’s not about the wave. Maybe it’s about who you become when you keep showing up.
Between the waves and sky, I remembered:
The point was never to be perfect,

To be free.
